Ian Rogers

Ian is Chief Actuary (Insurance) and Head of Business Development at the Government Actuary’s Department. As a member of their Executive Committee he provides high-level oversight and strategic support for the department. His role involves engaging with other government departments and the wider public sector to help them manage financial risks.

Ian is also a Director of the Local Government Mutual, a new organisation set up by local government to cover insurable risks.

Ian qualified as a Fellow of the Institute and Faculty of Actuaries in 1998 and has 25 years’ experience in insurance. Prior to joining the Government Actuary’s Department in 2012 he held senior roles at both Aviva (formerly Norwich Union) and Munich Re.
